Swarm Sandbox
The author of this article speculates at possible marketing opportunities of a mobile-based system following the swarm paradigm. Identifying the real-world potential of this “interconnected” and decentralized way of solving problems.
This is a method for artificially replicating the actions of fireflies in nature.. each firefly flashes at a random interval, however when it senses another flashing firefly, it attempts to align it’s flashing to its neighbours’. The emergent behaviour from a system like this is all of the fireflies in a swarm all flashing synchronously. A very simple and elegant example of replicated Swarm Intelligence!
Magazine that identifies ideas, trends and innovations behind the swarm power of marketting - many case studies and industry notes
Just released 3 weeks ago.. the bacterial orchestra project ported to iPhone. Each phone (or audio cell) listens for sounds and recognizable musical qualities, and then attempts to construct it’s own sounds to contribute to the performance. This seems like a natural progression and an elegant implementation of an already existing concept. Quite similar area of research to my project - plays off each “node” contributing to a greater swarm behavior.
Obvious market identified for Bluetooth technology in social events - ques, bars, promotional offers, etc
This is where all the development for Swarm Sandbox is managed, included source code and wikis.
A project intended to assist the blind in city navigation through the use of “talking” beacons (Bluetooth). Useful for code refference
This guy has re-built an extension (pyaosocket) that will hopefully allow me to do Bluetooth device discovery again! WOOP
